On March 21, you can visit many local ministries in one location--at The Chapel. Learn what they do and find out how you can help in their ministries--even if you'd like to just try it once.
That’s what Local Ministries Week is all about, volunteering outside the walls of the church. When you walk out the door on Sunday, your mission begins.
Can you hold a baby for a teen mom at First Glance while she learns to cook? Can you make a bed at Haven of Rest for a homeless person? Can you call a friend who has been feeling down? Can you take time to pray for a ministry or for someone? Can you visit a shut-in or someone in the hospital, or someone in jail?
Encourage, share love, show kindness, just as Jesus Christ did for us.
Then the righteous will answer him, "Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?" The King will reply, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." Matthew 25:37-40

The old saying is that charity begins at home. Although worldwide missions is extremely important and represents God’s heart for lost people everywhere, so much goes on here at home as well with part of your missions dollars.
